i’m ready for summer

i live in the mountains and its cold.. so cold my water keeps freezing. i hate winter. the only thing i like about it is snow. i am so ready for summer!

this cute dress from dilly dolls screams summertime to me! with several colourful options to choose from, its perfect for a romantic walk on the beach, or a nice leisurely stroll along the boardwalk.

sway with me

ok i’m being a jerk by posting a bunch of items that are not available in stores because they were event items BUT the main important part of this post is the dress, and these shoes.

a long time creator in second life named sway dench is about to undergo brain surgery, and some lovely people in sl have gathered together to take up donations for her. it never ceases to amaze me by how kind and thoughtful people in second life can be.

the dress and shoes i am wearing are both available from dilly dolls at the event right now. this dress is especially interesting because your chest is actually a mesh prim! and its gorgeous! i had no issue tinting the prim to my skin tone, and it looks like its just part of my avatar. no odd seams to deal with here.

the chest is attached to the shrug and there are three sizes so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck with huge boobs if that’s not your thing. i’m currently wearing size 1, however even size 3 is tastefully done and not overly cartoony large like some prim breasts tend to be.

i hope this becomes a trend in mesh clothing because sl boobs suck!

dusting off the doll

i have been horribly neglectful of blogging items sent from the blue blood blogger group… there’s some gorgeous stuff in there and i am going to do a better job of getting them on the blog more often! this gorgeous dress is the newest release called “alice” and it has lovely cheshire cat and tea cup artwork around the skirt.

i love blue blood’s designs because they are always very frilly and girly and suit my dolly perfect.

here’s my numbers?

last year strawberry singh asked us to post some of our shape numbers (the ones we felt comfy sharing) to see the differences in shapes all around sl. this year she’s asking for them again now that everyone has had to shift things around due to mesh’s release and the crazy sizing problems we’ve had to endure because of LL’s lack of a mesh deformer.

this year she included a link to a ruler which of course still makes me look deceptively tall! i get asked if i’m up for adoption as a teen avatar a lot so i know for a fact i am not tall at all!

a few things have changed due to mesh sizing. i have only listed the numbers here that were on my digits post last year but i have done a bit of house keeping on my shape to perfectly fit a size “M” in the standard sizes. they did not affect my over all shape and i am comfortable with what i changed. it was interesting to see that both my boobs and butt have gotten BIGGER since last year! but i’m not complaining :p

now for berry’s questions:

How has the introduction of mesh affected your SL, if at all? Are you open to wearing mesh often or do you still shy away from it?

i love mesh, i’m enjoying learning to make mesh items as well as enjoying the creativity of creators who are offering mesh items now. mesh hair is a major plus since it no longer goes though my boobs. mesh corsets are way better than sculpty ones, and there are so many other cool creations being made because of it! i think mesh has affected my sl in a positive manner 😀

Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh? If so, did you go bigger or smaller?

i have changed a few things, in some aspects i had to go larger, in other aspects i had to minimize some things, in the end it didn’t make me feel like i looked any different and my numbers only needed a little tweaking to suit the size i prefer to wear.

Do you think the mesh deformer will resolve a lot of the issues people seem to have with mesh and will it encourage you to wear mesh more often, if you don’t already?

i think it will resolve some of the issues, and hopefully it will encourage a lot more people to try mesh out instead of just sticking their nose up at it.  i do think it needs a lot more work before its ready for the general public.
